in hopes of comedia
malefic and snide.

First breath of twilight
the quarry:
finespun Erato and swain,
both lavish, pristine
dew lacquered flares
on cusp of ascendancy
mingled precarious
amongst heinous
creatures of old.

Alas! The Puppeteers,
this thrice pickled rancor
silhouette cloaked
ever swelling
importune fitting gestures
of the damnable, vile.

And artless figurines
so enamored, rapt
simply traipse, lolling flowers
glamoury, myrrh
though brutes doth attend
barely yon recess
anxious for lovers
and
other
heartstuffs.

Soundless
Hag-seed urchins
visage demure, illusory
now call upon Ardor
in parched Drakon tongue:
coos, beseeching
wantonly promiseful
with naught but their flames
for consummation
and fringe.

Thus, enchanted
dollish idols
aimless, unwitting
recompense jest apparent
by merest faith
in the Libretto
of their sensibilities…

of torch-licking Illuyankas
whence half-moon engravings
beribbon ceilings azure
and stone colonnades scrape
celestial bowels
amid buttress of histories
peppered in anguish
cunning and power.

Bazaars in your tenet
chariots amber debauch
evermore baiting
labyrinthine august
O Byzantium vampIr
of a starless chasm or
vague along seam of
the darkening black
gorged in elusory spectres ignoble
