O bantam dancer, affixed thy stand,
concede of music box love;
O phantom coryphée so miniature,
seer Prima,
flitting past my callous fingers,
orbit giddy ‘pon the cable,
girding coil spring,
uphold,
varnish,
how merry now thou seem’st!
Howbeit,
plié,
sighing,
mime thou droplets,
crying,
pretend melody plinkling so .…
Sweet ballerina amorous,
faint artisan ersatz,
please guard my trinkets safely,
keep them in thy drawers.
